More than 305 million packages were returned in the first five months of operation of the Deposit and Refund System. The system, called "Volta," has been achieving significant results since its implementation.
Currently, "Volta" records an average of close to 5 million packages per day. This number represents more than 3,400 packages returned every minute, which equals approximately 57 packages every second.
The system allows consumers to return beverage packages through a simple deposit and refund process, encouraging recycling and the reduction of waste in the environment. The data demonstrates growing adoption by the population.
