Musas – Festival of Arts of Conímbriga returns to Condeixa between September 2 and 26, in a seventh edition that has "Terra" as its central theme. The festival includes more than a dozen initiatives that cross music, heritage, literature, visual arts and thought, distributed across various spaces in the municipality, including, for the first time, the town of Alcabideque.
The programming takes place at the National Museum of Conímbriga, Ruins of Conímbriga, Portugal Romano Museum in Sicó, Conímbriga Hotel do Paço and Castellum de Alcabideque. In presenting the festival, the president of the Condeixa City Council, Liliana Pimentel, explained that the concept of this edition reflects the soil as a place of memory, a space for archaeological excavation and literary inspiration, also establishing a connection to Fernando Namora and the cultural identity of the municipality.
Emília Martins, president of the board of the Orquestra Clássica do Centro, highlighted that the theme also encompasses the homeland, identity, the matrix of roots and the stage of human passions. The program includes the photography exhibition "Aerial Perspectives of Conímbriga," by Hugo Matos, the performance "The Music and Work of Fernando Namora," the concert "Terra" by the Orquestra Clássica do Centro, and "The Memory of Liù" at the Ruins of Conímbriga.
Among the new features, the café-concert "Art and the Mind" in Alcabideque on September 19 stands out. The festival also includes educational activities such as "Games and Mosaics," aimed at children and young people with special needs, and visits to archaeological spaces usually not accessible to the public. The initiatives have free admission, although some are subject to prior registration.
