The Chega party maintains its insistence on creating a Parliamentary Inquiry Committee (CPI) aimed at Luís Neves, former national director of the Judicial Police. The parliamentary group intends for the procedures to begin on September 15.

The party assures that the objective is not to scrutinize the person of Luís Neves, but rather the decisions he made while serving as national director of the Judicial Police. This clarification comes in response to criticism about the personal nature of the investigation request.

The president of the Assembly of the Republic, José Aguiar-Branco, expressed doubts about the relevance of this CPI. However, Chega considers that these doubts have no legal or constitutional basis.

Teachers will have the majority of votes to elect school principals

The Minister of Education, Fernando Alexandre, announced that teachers will have more than 50% of the votes in the election of school principals, in an ongoing review of the School Autonomy and Governance Regime.
