An 80-year-old Douro wine was crowned as the world's best fortified wine. The Menin Porto Tawny 80 Anos received the Manuel Lozano trophy at the International Wine Challenge, one of the most prestigious wine competitions internationally.
The wine obtained 98 points, the highest score awarded in the 2026 edition of the competition. This exceptional score reflects the exceptional quality of the product and the work involved in its production and aging.
The Menin Porto Tawny 80 Anos represents a winemaking tradition of excellence in the Douro region, known worldwide for its fortified wines. This recognition at an international competition reinforces Portugal's status as a reference producer in the fortified wine segment.
