Vice-president of Beja City Hall suspends mandate until January 10 next

The vice-president of the Municipality of Beja, Liliana Cabecinha, suspended her mandate until January 10 of next year. The suspension of the mandate was formalized and approved unanimously by the members of the council.

The approval took place during a decentralized city council meeting, held on Wednesday, in the locality of Santa Clara de Louredo. This decentralized meeting was the chosen setting for the formalization and unanimous approval of the suspension of Liliana Cabecinha's mandate.

With this suspension, the vice-president temporarily steps away from her municipal duties until the indicated date of January 10. The unanimous decision of the remaining members of the municipal council of Beja validated the suspension request presented by Liliana Cabecinha.

STF rejects action against INSS medical expertises by telemedicine and documentary analysis

The Supreme Federal Court rejected, by majority vote in a virtual session, a Direct Action of Unconstitutionality (ADI 7949) that contested the performance of INSS medical expertises by telemedicine or documentary analysis through the Atestmed system. The action, presented by the National Association of Federal Medical Experts (ANMP), questioned the amendments to Laws 8.213/1991, 14.724/2023, and 15.265/2025 that allow the granting of benefits without an in-person examination. The entity argued that the change transformed the expert's work into simple verification of documents produced by the insured party. The STF considered the remote analysis of medical documentation for Social Security benefits purposes to be constitutional.
