New York firefighters paid tribute to the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks. The ceremony took place at a baseball stadium located in Staten Island, one of the city's boroughs.
During the attacks on the World Trade Center, nearly three thousand people lost their lives. Among the victims, more than 340 belonged to New York City's fire department, which suffered significant losses while trying to rescue survivors from the twin towers.
