Russian authorities detained a security official from the United Kingdom embassy in Moscow, accusing him of espionage on behalf of Ukraine. The official was arrested while carrying out his duties at the British diplomatic mission in the Russian capital.

According to Russian authorities, Kiev had prepared and carried out sabotage acts against the head of the diplomatic mission and other British diplomats. The objective would be to subsequently blame the Russian side for these attacks.

This accusation comes in a context of growing tension between Russia and the United Kingdom, with Moscow affirming that Kiev's intention was to involve the United Kingdom in a direct confrontation with Russia. Russian authorities guarantee they have evidence of this alleged conspiracy orchestrated by Ukraine.
