Madeira is preparing the necessary infrastructure to receive a new fiber optic submarine cable that will connect the main island to Porto Santo. The project is part of the Atlantic CAM initiative.
The regional secretary of Equipment and Infrastructure announced that the infrastructure preparation works will be completed by the end of October. This work aims to improve communications and connectivity between the two islands of the archipelago.
Atlantic CAM is the program that supports this initiative for the expansion of the submarine fiber optic network in the autonomous region. The project represents an investment in the modernization of Madeira's telecommunications infrastructure.
