The essential food basket tracked by DECO PROteste rose to 255.26 euros, registering an increase of 52 cents compared to the previous week. This basket is composed of 63 essential food products. Since the beginning of the year, its price has already increased by 13.43 euros, representing a rise of 5.55%.
The comparison with previous years reveals a significant increase in prices. A year ago, the same basket cost 14.61 euros less, while at the beginning of 2022 it was possible to buy it for 67.56 euros less. The cumulative difference over the past four years reaches 35.99%.
Between September 2 and 9, the product with the highest percentage increase was horse mackerel, which rose 23% to 5.46 euros per kilogram. Zucchini recorded a rise of 20%, now costing 2.15 euros, while tuna steak with olive oil increased 17% to 2.21 euros.
