Angola is managing to issue debt with international investors with increasing ease, according to an assessment shared by the Minister of Finance. This improvement in access to international markets reflects a shift in investors' perception of the country.
The needs for infrastructure and public investment continue to prevent the reduction of the Angolan state's debt. These expenses force the government to maintain significant debt levels to finance the country's development.
Given this reality, Angola has focused its financial strategy on two main objectives. On one hand, extending the maturities of the debt, meaning prolonging the payment deadlines. On the other hand, easing the costs associated with debt service, thereby reducing the burden of interest and repayments on the state budget.
