Inflation slows in Madeira to 4.1% in August

SAPO Notícias10 September 2026 at 12:21

Inflation in the Autonomous Region of Madeira slows to 4.1% in August, representing a decrease of 0.6 percentage points compared to the previous month of July. This slowdown reflects a reduction in consumer prices in the region during the period under analysis.

Despite the recorded decrease, the inflation rate in Madeira continues to remain above the national average, which maintains pressure on the cost of living in the autonomous region.

In terms of the 12-month average, regional inflation rose to 3.7%, indicating that, despite the monthly relief, the cumulative inflationary trend throughout the year remains significant.

The data refers to the Consumer Price Index of Madeira, which is calculated independently from the inflation rate of mainland Portugal.
