Viana do Castelo is marking its presence at Euro'Meet 2026, which takes place between September 8 and 10 in Sweden. This is the largest European conference dedicated to outdoor sports and recreation, organized by the European Network of Outdoor Sports (ENOS) in partnership with the Swedish federation Svenskt Friluftsliv.
The delegation from Viana do Castelo is represented by two senior sports technicians. This participation is particularly relevant due to the Municipality's recognition as one of the founding cities of STANDOUT, a European network of outdoor sports cities, alongside Sundsvall in Sweden and Skilborg in Denmark.
With this recognition, Viana do Castelo consolidates itself as a destination of excellence for outdoor sports. The highlight goes to the region's natural heritage and to the municipal council's strategy, which focuses on creating opportunities for everyone to practice sport in their daily lives, easily and integrated with nature.
