Rents in Portugal may increase by 2.56% in 2027, according to the final data on the evolution of the Consumer Price Index (CPI), excluding housing, recorded over the last 12 months until August.
This value represents a practical impact of an additional 25 euros on a 1,000 euro rent, meaning a significant burden for tenants.
The National Statistics Institute (INE) confirmed that this final data is in line with the estimate previously announced by the institution.
The CPI, excluding housing, is the indicator used to calculate the maximum limit for rent updates, which is calculated based on the variation in consumer prices over the last 12 months.
