Benfica's Under-23 team lost this Wednesday, October 9, by 1-0 against Vizela, at Field No. 1 of Benfica Campus, in a match of the 5th round of the 1st phase of the Next Gen League. The match reached half-time goalless, with both teams creating few opportunities in the first half.

The only goal of the match came in the 52nd minute, when Cañozales took an opportunity to score and put Vizela ahead. The young red and white players tried to react during the remainder of the match, but lacked effectiveness in the decisive moment.

The side from Luz continued to search for the equalizer and created opportunities to score, but couldn't convert them. Despite the reinforcements who came on, Benfica couldn't find the way to the opponent's net.

With this result, the red and white team continues without being able to win this season and is in 20th place in the standings, having only draws and losses in the first five rounds.
