International ranking reveals the best airports in the world

The international Airports Awards ranking, prepared by the organization Skytrax, revealed the best airports in the world. Barcelona-El Prat Josep Tarradellas Airport, located in Spain, and Düsseldorf Airport, in Germany, were considered the best in the world in this distinction.

The Skytrax Awards is one of the most recognized and respected rankings in the civil aviation sector, evaluating airports from around the world based on various criteria of service quality and passenger experience.

Barcelona-El Prat Josep Tarradellas Airport, which serves the capital of Catalonia, has received international recognition for the quality of its infrastructure and services offered to travelers.

Düsseldorf Airport, one of Germany's main air hubs, was also highlighted by the ranking as one of the best in the world, being recognized for the excellence of its operations and facilities.

Brussels prepares legislative package to simplify banking regulation and strengthen sector competitiveness

The European Commissioner for Financial Services, Maria Luís Albuquerque, announced that the European Commission will present in the first quarter of 2027 a legislative package to simplify banking regulation in the EU, reduce fragmentation of the single market and adapt international standards to European specifics. The announcement follows the Report on Banking Sector Competitiveness, which identifies three major obstacles: fragmentation of the single market and the need to complete the Banking Union, better adaptation of international standards to the European economy, and excessive complexity of the prudential framework requiring greater proportionality for smaller banks. Albuquerque called for greater political ambition to solve structural problems, emphasizing that the resilience of European banks is not enough without competitiveness. The commissioner also revealed that the EU intends to achieve political agreements by the end of the year on the Market Integration and Supervision Package, complementary pensions and securitization, within the Savings and Investment Union.
