Portugal's Business Association warned about the negative effects that a new interest rate increase in the eurozone could have on Portuguese businesses. Businesses are already facing significant financial difficulties, and a worsening of credit conditions would represent more pressure on the business fabric.
The Federation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises expressed concern about the impact of a possible interest rate increase. Jorge Pisco, spokesperson for the federation, considered that this measure would be another obstacle to the survival of businesses in Portugal.
According to Jorge Pisco, the interest rate increase would be "another nail in the coffin" of Portugal's business fabric. This expression illustrates the gravity of the situation for businesses already fighting against multiple economic difficulties.
