Inflation in Portugal accelerated to 3.3% in August, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE). This value represents an increase compared to the year-on-year rate recorded in July, which was 3.0%.
INE identifies the rise in fuel prices as the main explanation for this acceleration in the inflation rate. This factor had a significant impact on the annual pace of consumer price increases.
In the context of this price evolution, rents may rise by 2.6%, according to projections based on available indicators. This value is directly related to the evolution of inflation and the legal mechanisms for rent updates in Portugal.
