INE confirmed today that the year-on-year inflation rate in Portugal was 3.3% in August, representing an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared to the month of July.
This acceleration in inflation is almost entirely explained by the rise in diesel prices, according to the data confirmed by Statistics Portugal.
INE is the body responsible for compiling and publishing Portugal's official statistics, including consumer price indicators that allow measuring the evolution of inflation in the country.
