Inflation in the Autonomous Region of Madeira slowed in August, with the year-on-year variation of the Consumer Price Index standing at 4.1%, 0.6 percentage points lower than in July.
Despite the recorded decrease, the rate of price increase in Madeira continued above the national average, where year-on-year inflation stood at 3.3%.
The data was released this Thursday by the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira, responsible for the collection and publication of these regional statistics.
The average variation rate of the last 12 months also registered an increase, indicating that, although inflation has slowed in the short term, the medium-term trend maintains an upward trajectory.
