The inflation rate in Portugal accelerated to 3.3% in August, representing an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared to the month of July. The National Statistics Institute (INE) is the entity responsible for publishing these economic data. According to the INE's analysis, this acceleration of inflation is almost entirely explained by the increase in diesel prices. The fuel thus emerges as the main factor responsible for the rise in consumer prices in the period under analysis.
