Mega-Sena: how much do R$ 76 million yield per month in savings and Treasury

oglobo10 September 2026 at 11:04

The Mega-Sena holds a draw on Thursday for an estimated prize of R$ 76 million. No bet managed to match the six numbers of contest 3,055, held on Tuesday, and the amount accumulated again. The estimated prize is the largest of the year so far.

According to a survey published by UOL, the monthly earnings from the prize range from approximately R$ 510 thousand to R$ 650 thousand, depending on the chosen investment. The calculations consider compound interest, current market rates and, when applicable, the Income Tax deduction.

The prize announced by Caixa already corresponds to the amount available to the winner, with lottery taxation deducted at source. The returns obtained subsequently from investing the amount, however, may be subject to the tax rules of each investment.

If the R$ 76 million were deposited in savings, the monthly return would be approximately R$ 510 thousand. The article mentions that earnings can reach R$ 650 thousand per month if the amount is invested in other vehicles.

Brussels prepares legislative package to simplify banking regulation and strengthen sector competitiveness

The European Commissioner for Financial Services, Maria Luís Albuquerque, announced that the European Commission will present in the first quarter of 2027 a legislative package to simplify banking regulation in the EU, reduce fragmentation of the single market and adapt international standards to European specifics. The announcement follows the Report on Banking Sector Competitiveness, which identifies three major obstacles: fragmentation of the single market and the need to complete the Banking Union, better adaptation of international standards to the European economy, and excessive complexity of the prudential framework requiring greater proportionality for smaller banks. Albuquerque called for greater political ambition to solve structural problems, emphasizing that the resilience of European banks is not enough without competitiveness. The commissioner also revealed that the EU intends to achieve political agreements by the end of the year on the Market Integration and Supervision Package, complementary pensions and securitization, within the Savings and Investment Union.

Brussels presents in early 2027 a "comprehensive package" to strengthen EU banking

The European Commission will present in early 2027 a "comprehensive package" of legislative measures to strengthen the EU banking sector. This future package will be based on the institution's report on banking sector competitiveness and the banking single market, presented last July, which identified three major challenges for the European banking sector. The goal is to strengthen European banking in the face of growing international competition and the regulatory and structural challenges the sector faces.
