Submarine cable has 35 kilometres results from an investment of 4.5 million euros

Madeira and Porto Santo will have a new fibre optic connection from next year, resulting from an investment of 4.5 million euros. The project aims to reinforce the speed, reliability and redundancy of communications between the two islands.

The intervention, promoted by the company Emacom, includes the laying of 35 kilometres of submarine cable and two fibres between Madeira and Porto Santo.

The project comes to improve the region's communication infrastructure, guaranteeing a more stable connection between the islands.

The regional secretary of Equipment and Infrastructure, Pedro Rodrigues, visited this Thursday morning the works related to this intervention.
