AMAL - Intermunicipal Community of the Algarve will promote on September 17, in Faro, the public session "Less emissions, more options: the mobility that the Algarve can have". The event will take place at the Centro de Emprego e Formação Profissional do Algarve - IEFP, in Areal Gordo, between 2:30 PM and 5:00 PM.

The session is part of the development process of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan of the Algarve (PMUS Algarve 2.0) and aims to present the main results of the diagnosis developed so far, promoting a joint reflection on the future of mobility in the region.

During the event, the available options, the challenges associated with reducing emissions, and the behaviors that could contribute to more sustainable mobility in the Algarve will be discussed. The initiative counts with the participation of José Manuel Viegas, a specialist in the field of transport, who will make an intervention on sustainable mobility and conduct a round table.

Participation is free, but requires prior registration. The complete program can be consulted on AMAL's official channels.

José Sócrates returns to court without a lawyer

Former prime minister José Sócrates returned to the Central Criminal Court at the Campus da Justiça in Lisbon without a lawyer since November 2025, when his lawyer resigned from the mandate without consulting him. The newly appointed lawyer, Filipe Batista, asked for ten days to prepare the defense, but the judge refused to grant that time, which prompted criticism from Sócrates, who claimed not to be responsible for the situation. The former prime minister reiterated that he has been facing for 12 years "a false corruption accusation" in the context of the Marquês case, whose trial continues with dozens of witnesses still to be heard.
