Portugal creates 82 thousand jobs and seeks mainly personal services workers

Portugal created approximately 82 thousand jobs between the first quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, according to an analysis by BestBrokers based on Eurostat data and job offers registered on the EURES network. This growth positions Portugal among the European countries with the highest employment expansion in the analyzed period. The country is only behind Spain, which recorded an increase of approximately 430 thousand workers in the same time interval. The BestBrokers analysis indicates that Portugal is mainly seeking personal services workers. However, the study reveals that this employment expansion is not evenly distributed.
