Santa Catarina Civil Police arrested the main suspect in the robbery-homicide of a jewelry merchant. The man was detained on the morning of last Wednesday (9), in Palhoça, in the state, during the execution of a temporary arrest warrant.
The crime occurred on April 10 of this year, when the merchant was lured into an ambush in a forested area of the Aririú da Formiga neighborhood. The victim was murdered during the robbery, characterizing the crime of robbery-homicide, which is robbery followed by death.
In addition to the arrest of the main suspect, agents executed three search and seizure warrants against suspects who allegedly participated in concealing evidence related to the case.
The operation that resulted in the capture of the suspect is part of ongoing investigations by Santa Catarina Civil Police to clarify the robbery-homicide and hold all those involved in the crime accountable.
