Israel declared a state of war after a strong multiple attack from Gaza. This attack was described as unprecedented and marks a significant escalation in the conflict between Israel and Palestinian armed groups.
According to the Palestinian Authority, Israeli airstrikes have already killed 508 people, including around a hundred children, and caused 2,800 injured. The bombings continue to affect the Gaza Strip.
On the Israeli side, more than 700 people died and 2,300 were injured due to the Hamas attack, considered unprecedented in its magnitude and execution. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised a harsh response to the attacks.
At least 130 people were taken hostage by Palestinian groups, which increases the complexity of the humanitarian situation and complicates any attempt at negotiation for a ceasefire.
