Six amateur cyclists from Portalegre are riding through the Pyrenees in an initiative to raise funds for the Portuguese League Against Cancer. The group shared their desire to "make a difference" through this solidarity sports activity.
The partnership with the Portuguese League Against Cancer was born from the "desire to help others," according to one of the group members who spoke to Euronews. Over the years, these amateur cyclists have been developing a taste for long distances.
This is not the first time the Portalegre group has ventured into demanding trails. The accumulated experience in long routes has been fundamental to facing the Pyrenees challenge, a mountainous region known for its difficulty.
