Benfica SAD became the most valuable sports anonymous society in Portugal, with an estimated average valuation of 581.23 million euros, according to the Brands Capital Sports study. The Eagles took the lead by dethroning Sporting SAD, which fell to third place on the podium, also behind FC Porto, which now occupies second position with 513.63 million euros.
The Brands Capital Sports methodology was reinforced with three new variables for this edition: the integration of the eligible value of B teams, the analysis of players' contractual situations including contracts in their final phase, renewals and loans, and the incorporation of new public financial results data. These dimensions allow, according to the study's author, a more complete reading of each society's capacity to create, retain and convert value over time.
Sporting CP suffered the largest negative variation, with a drop of 119.88 million euros (down 19.56%) compared to the previous valuation, falling from the lead to third place. Brands Capital Sports associates this decline with the update of the squad's composition and value, taking into account market evolution, contractual situation and competitive availability. FC Porto, on the other hand, rose from third to second place with growth of 63.63 million euros (up 14.14%).
In the remaining ranking of the most valuable SADs in the League, SC Braga maintains fourth position with 172.43 million euros, while Vitória SC rose to fifth place with 52.51 million euros, benefiting from the inclusion of the eligible value of its B team. At the opposite end, Rio Ave appears in 13th place with 18.96 million euros, after a drop of 24.04 million compared to the previous valuation.
