Apple presented this Wednesday, at Apple Park, in California, a set of new products, in a moment that marks a new era in the tech giant's leadership. John Ternus, who took over as CEO on September 1, succeeding Tim Cook, gave his first product presentation leading the company. The main highlights include new iPhones, AirPods, and smartwatches, with the big announcement being the launch of the brand's first foldable device: the iPhone Duo.
The iPhone Duo was described by the CEO as a "remarkable innovation" that aims to revolutionize the foldable smartphone experience. When open, it is the thinnest iPhone ever, with a flexible 7.6-inch screen and a second outer screen of 5.4 inches. The device features two 48-megapixel rear Fusion cameras, an A20 Pro processor, and a hinge that allows the screen to lie completely flat. It will also receive Apple Pencil support during this year. In Portugal, prices start at €2,399 for the 256 GB version, with pre-orders beginning on October 16 and market arrival on October 23.
The company also presented the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, which feature the A20 Pro chip and stand out for their longer battery life, with the Pro model reaching 24 hours and the Pro Max reaching 30 hours. iPhone 18 Pro prices start at €1,499, while the Pro Max starts at €1,649. The new AirPods 5 promise a 50% reduction in noise compared to the previous generation, with prices starting at €149. The Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 focus on health features, with heart rate being measured up to 24 times more frequently and the ability to estimate a sort of biological age. The Series 12 starts at €459 and the Ultra 4 at €909. All these products hit stores on September 18.
