José Manuel López is PhD in Philosophy and worked as a teacher of this subject for 32 years in various institutes in Asturias. During this period, he witnessed the approval of six educational laws, the arrival of the internet and the transformation that new technologies brought to classrooms.
According to his experience, he witnessed a "gradual regression" in "reading comprehension" and in the "culture of effort" on the part of students. This observation marked his professional trajectory until his retirement.
A year after retiring, López found a new way to reach young people through educational videos that he publishes on social media. His content, described as adapted to the language that young people currently consume, has already reached an average of 4.5 million views on YouTube.
