Flores lives in a simple wooden house in Sardinal, in the province of Guanacaste, in Costa Rica, a town located on the Nicoya Peninsula, one of the world's so-called "blue zones" — regions known for the concentration of people who reach old age in good health conditions.
The documentation presented by the family includes birth certificates, baptism records, and other historical documents. The material is being analyzed in the age validation process, with the participation of researchers and specialized organizations. The expectation is that, after confirmation, the case may be referred to Guinness World Records.
Flores is the father of eight children, grandfather of 23 grandchildren, and great-grandfather of 25 great-grandchildren. If his age is confirmed, he would officially become the oldest man in the world, surpassing the current record holder.
