European cities are at the center of climate change dangers, according to a new alert launched recently. This conclusion comes in the context of a report dedicated to health and climate change, titled "Lancet Countdown Europe Cities Report on Health and Climate Change".
The report highlights that the extreme heat and wildfires recorded during the summer made European cities' exposure to climate change evident. These extreme climate events revealed the growing vulnerability of European urban centers to these phenomena.
The document's conclusions draw attention to the need for urgent adaptation and mitigation measures in European urban areas, where a large part of the continent's population resides and is particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change.
