Benfica thrashed Moreirense 4-0 in Moreira de Cónegos on this night, in a match that allowed the team to rise to second place in the Portuguese Liga I. The game was marked by a second half of great offensive intensity from the red-and-whites.
Pavlidis opened the scoring at 45+4 minutes, through the conversion of a penalty, giving the visiting team a minimal lead at halftime. The Greek player took the opportunity to score the first goal of the night.
In the second half, Benfica continued to dominate and extended the lead with goals from Schjelderup at 55 minutes and Prestianni at 59 minutes, in a period of just four minutes that gave the result the contours of a rout.
