Khachanov into US Open semifinals

Karen Khachanov advanced to the US Open semifinals after Alexander Blockx retired during the third set of their quarterfinal match.

Khachanov, currently ranked 50th in the ATP rankings, thus reached the semifinals of a Grand Slam for the third time in his career.

Belgian tennis player Alexander Blockx abandoned the match during the third set, allowing Khachanov to advance in the tournament.

With this victory, Khachanov joins the group of players still in contention at the final Grand Slam of the season.
