Benfica beat Moreirense 4-0, in a postponed match of the third round of the Portuguese I Liga football championship, held in Moreira de Cónegos. The 'encarnada' side thus achieved their fourth consecutive win in the 2026/27 edition of the competition.

Striker Pavlidis opened the scoring at 45+4 minutes, through a penalty, scoring his sixth goal in the competition. In the second half, Benfica extended their lead with goals from Schjelderup at 55 minutes, Prestianni at 59 minutes and Aursnes at 72 minutes.

With this landslide victory, Benfica rose to second place in the I Liga standings, just two points behind leader FC Porto.

The Benfica side demonstrated a consistent offensive performance throughout the match, converting the opportunities created into a convincing thrashing that reinforces their position in the title race.
