Santos announced on Wednesday the signing of Everton Cebolinha, a 30-year-old forward. The player was released by Flamengo, with whom he had a contract until the end of this year, and terminated it early. The deal with the Peixe will be valid until December, and the red-and-black team will receive no financial compensation for the transfer.
Cebolinha had been expressing his desire to leave since the beginning of the year and had offers from Russia. Santos' board convinced the player to accept a contract until the end of the season. The forward arrived in São Paulo the night before to finalize details, undergo medical tests, and sign the contract with Santos.
The athlete was with Flamengo's delegation in Belém, where the red-and-black side faced Remo last Sunday, in the Brazilian Championship. The team continued to Ecuador, where they play in the Libertadores this week, but Cebolinha returned to Rio de Janeiro early to resolve his transfer.
