American tennis player Coco Gauff secured her return to the US Open semifinals today, three years after her last appearance at this stage of the competition.
Gauff defeated Russia's Mirra Andreeva in three sets, overcoming the 17-year-old young opponent who had eliminated Spain's Paula Badosa in the quarterfinals.
With this victory, Gauff keeps alive the dream of winning the title at home, at the final Grand Slam of the season.
This semifinal marks the American's return to this stage of the competition, after reaching the US Open semifinals for the last time in 2021.
