Apple bets on continuous listening features on Apple Watch to compete in AI wearable market

oglobo9 September 2026 at 21:05

Apple CEO John Ternus presented today the company's news for Apple Watches, which gained new audio features with artificial intelligence and other capabilities for its devices, including its premium smartwatch. The Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 models will feature new Audio Intelligence tools, including Siri Recap, which uses ambient listening to create high-level summaries of the user's conversations throughout the day.

Users will be able to decide whether they want to activate each of these new audio features. Apple stated that no recordings will be created or stored by the new features. Instead, the raw audio will not be accessible to either Apple or other apps and will be deleted immediately after processing.

The new audio features will be available for testing in English later this year. The company is betting on these continuous listening features to compete in the AI wearable market.
