The iPhone 18 Pro line arrived in Brazil with prices between R$12,000 and R$22,000, representing an increase of up to 18.9% compared to the previous year. The Pro models were sold for values between R$12,000 and R$21,000, a rise of up to 13.8%, while the Pro Max ranged between R$13,000 and R$22,000, with the 18.9% increase.
This significant increase is attributed to the phenomenon called "chipflation," driven by the artificial intelligence boom in the consumer electronics industry. The growing demand from data centers for memory and storage chips caused a shortage of these components and pushed up global prices of smartphones and other electronic devices.
Comparatively, in 2025 the Pro models had a minimum adjustment of R$200, while the Pro Max line had no changes. The models with less storage, 256 GB and 512 GB, had the smallest adjustments this year, of R$500 — still more than double the increase recorded between the 16 and 17 generations.
The new devices will arrive in Brazilian stores on September 18. The standard iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 model launches are expected for next year.
