Carlo Ancelotti announced his first call-up list for the Brazilian national team after taking over the team, with matches scheduled against Australia and India on September 25 and 29, as well as October 6. The call-up features ten players from Brazilian football, nine athletes who played in the last World Cup, and eight new faces compared to the previous squad.
The average age of the called-up players dropped from 29.4 to 24.4 years, representing a reduction of five years compared to the players who played in the World Cup in the United States. The technical staff's plan is to begin a reform process in the Brazilian squad, using more experienced names as a foundation for the young players who are joining the national team.
In an interview after the announcement of the call-up, Ancelotti defended his choices, stating that the list is balanced. The coach highlighted that he has players who participated in the World Cup, young players with quality and age to represent the future of the national team, as well as athletes who are in good form in the Brazilian Championship and players of Olympic age.
