Apple held its first event under the leadership of new CEO John Ternus, where it revealed its main innovations. During the event, Ternus announced the new foldable iPhone, representing the biggest change to the device's design since its launch almost 20 years ago.
John Ternus didn't spare criticism of the competition in the foldable devices segment. In a reference to Samsung, which dominates this market, the CEO stated that current foldables look like "two phones awkwardly taped together", suggesting that Apple's solution will be more elegant and integrated.
In addition to the foldable iPhone, Apple revealed a pricing strategy pointing to more expensive products. The possibility for consumers to acquire devices through leasing was also announced, offering new payment options to customers.
