Elvas: Works begin at Barbacena Castle to create a five-star hotel

The rehabilitation works at Barbacena Castle, in the municipality of Elvas, began on Friday, the 4th, with the aim of transforming the monument into a five-star hotel. Elvas City Council announced that the investment is around four million euros. The project is promoted by Grupo Chaves do Areeiro, which acquired the castle, and includes the full recovery of the historic building to house the luxury hotel unit.
