The farmers from Serpa represented by APROSERPA – Association of Farmers of the Left Bank of the Guadiana consider the 10-cent fuel support announced by the government insufficient. The association analyzed the reference prices from the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG), which indicate specific values for comparison.
Given this situation, APROSERPA admits to intensifying forms of protest as a means of pressure. The decision arises from the absence of structural responses that meet the real needs of farmers in the region.
The association's statement makes it clear that the farmers do not accept the proposed amount as sufficient to cope with the increase in production costs, particularly with regard to fuels essential to agricultural activity.
