A weather alert was issued by Climatempo indicating risk of tornadoes in the states of Paraná, São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul. The forecast is for the 10th and 11th, when a combination of atmospheric factors increases the probability of formation of "supercells" in these regions.
During these two days, the unstable atmosphere should generate severe conditions that include, in addition to tornadoes, the possibility of "microbursts." These phenomena are downward airflow currents that plummet from storm clouds and reach the ground, spreading strong winds in all directions.
The severe weather forecast also brings heavy hail, winds above 90 km/h and widespread storms. According to Climatempo, tornadoes are common when different air masses collide, in this case a warm air mass with a colder one.
