Spain's intelligence services warned Morocco and the Spanish Government itself of several summonses on social media that aimed to carry out mass entries into Ceuta on July 30. The alerts were issued through documents that were made public today.
The summonses were spread through social media groups totalling 180,000 people, demonstrating the massive scale of the mobilisation that was being organised for that date.
Ceuta is a Spanish enclave located in North Africa, and the situation highlights the border tensions between Spain and Morocco, with Spanish intelligence services taking on a monitoring and alert role both for the Moroccan authorities and the Spanish government.
