TAP pilots want to be heard before the airline's privatization

SIC Notícias9 September 2026 at 19:12

The Portuguese Civil Aviation Pilots' Union considers it incomprehensible that it was not heard by the Government in the TAP privatization process. The entity argues that pilots must be part of the discussions about the airline's future.

The union is demanding verifiable commitments from the candidates for privatization, Lufthansa and Air France-KLM. These commitments must cover fundamental issues such as the company's operations, workers' employment, and the strategic future of TAP.

The pilots' position arises at a critical moment in the privatization process of the Portuguese airline, which has generated debate about the conditions and guarantees that should be demanded from potential buyers.
