Apple's new CEO, John Ternus, took over the company's presidency this year and presented his first product launch event for the company. The announcement was made at the Steve Jobs Theater, in Cupertino, the traditional venue for Apple product launches.
During the event, Ternus announced the new generation of iPhones, with the iPhone 18 Pro starting at $1,199 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max being sold for $1,299. Pre-orders for the devices will begin on September 12 in the United States.
For the first time, the order of presentations was reversed, with the new generation of iPhones being announced before the company's other products.
The new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models come equipped with a new lens aperture system, a function eagerly awaited by the market that allows more light to be captured in dark environments. The CEO also informed that the devices will have a function that will allow the same phone number to be used on different iPhones.
