Lagoa lived, in recent days, the celebrations of the municipal holiday and the Festivities in Honor of Our Lady of Light, in a program that combined tradition, faith, culture and music. The religious dimension included eucharistic celebrations and the traditional Grand Procession in Honor of Our Lady of Light.
On September 5th, the 3rd Portuguese Popular Music Meeting of Lagoa took place, which featured the participation of Grupo de Cantares Fonte Nova, from Estômbar, which represented Lagoa, accompanied by Grupo de Cavaquinhos "Luz do Monte", from Monte Abraão-Massamá, Grupo de Cantares dos Amigos da Pedreira, from Silves, Grupo Coral e Etnográfico Vozes de Almodôvar and Grupo de Música Popular Portuguesa Amodantiga, from Lagos.
On September 6th, Largo do Auditório Carlos do Carmo received the "Celebrar Lagoa" program, an initiative that brought together twenty-one local artists on a stage that brought together music, crafts, gastronomy and entertainment.
The program continued on September 7th with a dance organized by Manel João, with the closing taking place on September 8th, the date on which the religious celebrations, the traditional procession and a concert by Bárbara Bandeira took place.
