William Siri admits that PSOL was wrong to vote for Bacellar's re-election as president of Alerj

William Siri, PSOL candidate for governor of Rio de Janeiro, publicly admitted that his party was wrong to vote for Rodrigo Bacellar to remain as president of Alerj (State Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro). The statement was made during an interview conducted by CBN radio in partnership with the newspapers O Globo, Extra and Valor Econômico.

Siri also presented proposals from his government plan, promising to re-nationalize Cedae (State Water and Sewage Company) and train operations in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

The candidate acknowledged that his campaign has struggled to gain ground with voters. He attributed this to a "confusion" caused by former President Lula's support for Eduardo Paes of the PSD, which ended up creating proximity between PSOL and PT in the progressive camp. In Siri's assessment, this makes it difficult to differentiate his candidacy.

Recent numbers reinforce the difficulty. The latest Quaest poll, released on Tuesday (8), showed that voting intentions for Siri dropped from 3% to 1%. The candidate compared his campaign to a "David against Goliath" fight, highlighting the structural advantage of his opponents, such as PL and PSD, which have a greater presence on the streets with campaign materials.

The commentator highlights what he considers to be selective hypocrisy of these artists in their condemnation of certain figures while participating in an event associated with Stalinist regimes responsible for millions of deaths.
