Sofia Moncóvio renewed her contract with Benfica until 2027 and will continue to represent the club's women's roller hockey team. The 27-year-old player will thus complete her 4th consecutive season with the Eagles, having arrived in 2023 from Sporting, the club where she scored 112 goals.
Benfica, thirteen-time national champions, officially announced the renewal, which comes after a season in which the team reached the Champions League final but failed to win the European title.
In statements to the club's media, Moncóvio stated that the renewal represents a feeling of duty fulfilled, saying that both parties are satisfied with the work developed. The player expressed pride in the continuity and willingness to achieve more titles.
The defeat in the Champions final left a bitter taste, but also reinforced the group's determination, which persists in the fight to reclaim the European title after several years of trying.
